Synopsis: Ke Ying is an intelligent, talented lecturer at the Nanzhou University who is forced to help psychopath Feng Xiao Sheng gain real power within his corporation after he seeks revenge on her for assisting the police in destroying his previous gang. The street smart Xiao Wu is a police informant, and when he discovers Fu’s company is laundering money with foreign bank accounts, he befriends Ke Ying, and the two work together to destroy the criminal organization.

Not suitable for the viewing of children and under 15s as there are some violent scenes especially this one (apologies for the ads, I’m trying to find a more reputable site to upload it on.)

Greeting Gift: This is a gift that someone from an older generation would usually gift to someone in the younger generation when they first meet usually to show to their parents that they want to maintain a good relationship or wish the younger individual good luck or approve of the relationship if it was the future mother/father-in-law giving the gift.

Hongbao at weddings: A Hongbao or red packet is a red packet containing money that people usually give to the bride and groom at the wedding instead of gifts. Before the Western Han period, people would not celebrate when a couple was getting married as it indicated that the parents were reaching old age and hence a celebration would be disrespectful to one’s elders. However Emperor Liu Xuan of the Western Han period decided that it was not a good idea to not celebrate at a wedding as there would be no joy in life for normal civilians. However, people at the time would only come to the celebration bearing gifts as it showed more sincerity than money. It was only in the beginning of the Ming dynasty, when the founding Emperor Hongwu noticed that in most villages, people were living in poverty and struggled to find money to hold any weddings. Hence his government released an announcement to advise his citizens of the importance of friends, family and people from the same village contributing money to fund for weddings and this started the tradition of giving money at weddings. Nowadays, giving money at a wedding was no longer required out of necessity but rather as a social gesture with social norms associated with it. For example, someone closer to the bride or groom or is more well-off should give more money than an acquaintance who is invited to the celebration.
